Bathroom revamp

Happy New Year everyone!

It’s been over a year since I blogged and so much has happened! What better way to start than with our bathroom renovation.

As you can see, the theme of our bathroom was orange. Orange walls, orange tiles and an orange bath panel. Whilst there is nothing wrong with the previous owners choices, we wanted something less intense. And less orange.

We started by ripping out all the tiles and soon discovered the culprit of our leak was a badly fitted bath pipe!

We removed the bookshelf that was built into the alcove and replaced the radiator with a heated towel rail. The first coat of paint really transformed the room.

*We decided on a Crown Trade grey beige paint.

We found our tiles at Topps Tiles at a great price. My dad and I then tiled and grouted the floor – I’m very lucky to have a handy-man dad. I think we did a pretty good job!

We purchased our sink, toilet and vanity unit from Bluewater Bathrooms to utilise as much space as possible. My aunt and uncle had a huge bathroom suite from them and we loved it!

The units can be built to your specification, so we were able to make them as narrow as possible to maximise space. However you have to build and cut the sections and worktops yourself so it may be worth hiring someone.

You have been warned if you aren’t into flat pack ikea style ‘team building’…

We tiled behind the unit and shower/bath area with sandy stone tiles from Tile Giant.

For the finishing touches we turned a piece of Ikea surface we had left over into shelving and added our accessories!

I love how it’s turned out, it’s light yet cosy and feels so much more spacious!

Let me know if you are starting any refurbishments this year.

Love Em x
